Recent Advances in Chemical and Materials Science
The newsletter “ILLUMINATI” published by the first year students under the guidance of the dedicated faculty members of Department of Basic Sciences. Illuminatiisa prose which sequence the dedication, involvement, team spirit, diligence and perseverance of the students and faculty members. This is a source of inspiration to the other senior students, which highlight the growth and the student activities in the campus, notable achievements in academics, sports, cultural and research activities. This is a fruitful effort and a persistent process, where four issues have been published which emphasized the flair of the first year engineering students of Jain University School of Engineering and Technology.
Phoenix, the Cultural Fest exclusively for first year students took off with great zeal and zest. The fest was organized on 26th and 27th of April, 2012 by club ATOM and the Department of Basic Sciences, Mr. Preetam Daniel, Director of the IMAX group, South-East Asia, presided over the inauguration ceremony. Eighteen sports’ events and technology covering all disciplines of engineering were organized with attractive cash prizes.
It is a technical event which covers competitions from mechanics to computers and proved to be a platform for exposure. It was an utter moment of pride, both for students' and the department of basic sciences for organizing such an event with great efforts and determination. This day is meant to apprize and emboss the obscure talents of the students. This is the day when academic toppers are awarded for their efforts in the academic field. Some awe inspiring performances are organized during the ceremony and the event successfully completes with National Anthem.
The Jain University School of engineering & Technology (JU-SET) organizes voluntary annual blood donation camp as there is shortage of blood at times. Willingly the students participate and make the environment more provoking for such a noble cause.

Self-defense Workshop 2017
Self-defense workshop was organized by women’s cell, SET, JU in collaboration with Rocksolid Fitness Llp. for all the female students and faculties under the guidance of Dr. Anita Chaturvedi.
Hands on Training to B.Tech Students
A hands-on training program on computers was organized on 16 September 2017 for the students of Computer Science (general) and first year mechanical engineering students. The workshop was organized by Dr. Benaka Prasad, HOD of Basic Science department. The session was conducted by a team of faculty members and senior students.
HNA Activity for B.Tech Students
Successful lives grow out of successful adventures. Jain University provided an opportunity to students to gain knowledge and experience of some exciting activities. A fun filled one day adventure camp was organized by School of Engineering and Technology, Basic Science department at Ramanagar, Karnataka.
