School of Engineering and Technology Commemorates 70th Independence Day

School of Engineering and Technology, Jain University celebrated 70th Independence Day on 15 August 2017 at SET Amphitheater. Around 500 students and staff gathered to commemorate the event.

Dr. Hariprasad S.A, Director JU-SET and Dr. V. Muralidhara, Associate Director, JU-SET were the Chief Guests of the day. Dr. Benaka Prasad HOD Basic Sciences, and a few faculty members including Prof. Premanand, Mr. Mallikarjun, Dr. Raghu, and Mrs. Ranjini Bhat also graced the occasion.

The program began with the welcome speech by Ms. Monika B.V final year B.Tech student. Dr. Hariprasad hoisted the flag and advised the students to understand their responsibilities as citizens of India.

While addressing the students, Dr. V. Muralidhara recalled all the legends who fought against British and sacrificed their lives to liberate India.

At the juncture, the day also witnessed splendid performances by students. First-year students Mr. Sourav Ganguli and Ms. Kavya also delivered the speech. Apart from the speech, a few final year students (Aniket, Sais Shresta, Meghana) sang patriotic songs reflecting the national spirit and importance of freedom.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Kushbhu.
