The Department has organized National Conferences regularly for Computer Science & Engineering students who work on research / projects in the various domains of Computer Science and Engineering. These conferences aim to bring together M.Tech. students of various disciplines to exchange and share their experiences with respect to new ideas and research / project results. The conferences, get an overwhelming response in terms of number of papers received and number of papers presented by students on current trends like Networks, Image Processing, Data mining, etc. Experts from Industry and Academia are always part of panel members. Top three best papers were awarded with cash prize to encourage the students & students from reputed Universities of Karnataka and outside Karnataka also take part in the conferences. Besides academic activities, emphasis was also laid on extracurricular activities. The students of the Department actively participate in various cultural activities. They brought laurels to the Department and the University by winning several accolades in different categories which include dance and drama at college and inter collegiate festivals.
The Department has iGnan forum, which facilitates students to organize and to participate in various events to give leadership skills.
The Department conducts an orientation program for new batch students and appreciates the academic/Co-curricular /Extracurricular achievers of existing batch.
The Department assigns one faculty as mentor to every student to monitor the overall progress and handles grievenaces if any throughout their studies. The Department refers students to Counselor in case of health related issues.
The Department ensures that all students undergo this training to make sure students are ready for placement activity through Training and Placement Department.
The Department staff plays a major role in conducting Infosys Campus Connect modules to all IT and Non-IT students of the campus to enhance their employability chances and Industry ready.
The IT Companies like Infosys Tecjnologies and CTS do Road- shows regulary at the campus for all new batch students before placement training.
The Department boost good placement record. The department is successful in getting good placements for all eligible students in reputed companies with good pay package with the help of Training and Placement Department.
Students conduct various competitions for staff members to show their gratitude towards their Gurus.
Thru Human Network Academy one day outbound activity includes trekking, at Ramanagara Distcrict, Bangalore for all students to encourage team activities.
The Department has MOU with IT Companies Infosys Technologies, EMC2, Spaneos Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd, MCL, for academic and Training purpose. Through Industry Tie-Ups Department organizes Webinar on various subjects, arranges technical seminars and opportunity to visit Industries to give industry working exposure to students. The Department arranges regularly Industrial visit to IT companies like Infosys, EMC2.
The Department is successful in arranging Internship facility to the students in reputed IT companies like Infosys, Crimsonlogic, Unisys, CTS, TechMahindra, Qwicksilver, Flipkart, Thomson Reuters, Electron Solution Pvt. Ltd. DRDO, etc., to carry out their final year project.
The Department organizes one day workshop on career launch to help students who aspire for higher studies abroad.
The students of the Department actively coordinate and volunteer in this annual event.
Good number of staff and students support this social cause by donating the Blood.
Both staff and students take part in this annual event to showcase their fitness and get-together activity happily.
The Department students and staff take part in this annual event. The Girl Students have emerged as champions on many occasions. Good number of students are part of university team members like Cricket, Foot Ball, Basket Ball, Shooting.
This is an annual cultural extravaganza. Department Students have exhibited their talent and won many prizes in the events like Singing, dance, Mock CEO, Musical Instruments, theme based Drama etc.
The Department students have taken active participation in coordination, volunteering the event and also exhibited their talent in Drama and fashion shows to mark the special occasion on 2nd Oct 2015.
The Department and junior students give farewell to its graduating batch students wishing them all the best and thanking them for becoming brand ambassadors of the University.
The Department congratulates all graduating batch students who successfully completes their Degree in flying colors.
The Department encourages students to support social service activities like collecting donations for flood victims (Nepal Earthquake, Chennai Floods), donating clothes to orphange schools on crisis base.
The Wonen’s cell at SET celebrates International Women’s Day on 8th March every year. Various competitions are conducted to tap the hidden talents of all women faculties. Lecture series on Women Empowerment has been arranged. Technical talk on health awareness were arranged to benefit all women faculties. The event addresses theme based events like gender inequality, women empowerment, Workbalance culture through various competions like painting, rangoli, cooking, collage making etc.
Women’s Cell, Jain University organized one day workshop on Self Defense for all students to mark International Women’s Day on 8th March 2016. The Department encouraged girl students to take part in this workshop.
