Jnana Chilume 2019 - The Annual National Conference

School of Engineering and Technology, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized National Conference Jnana Chilume - 2019 on 29 March. This conference provided a strong platform for researchers to develop skill, ingenuity and intellectual capabilities for conducting valuable research in different domains.
Department of Mathematics organized National Conference (AAM-2019) on Advances in Applied Mathematics. Research articles from in house and outsiders from various institutions across the country on various topics of Pure and Applied Mathematics were received. The speakers of the session were Dr. Chandra Vaidyanathan, Professor and Chairman, Department of Mathematics, Dayanand Sagar University, Prof. N Shivakumar, Department of Mathematics, RV College of Engineering. Series of lectures were delivered by keynote speakers and was followed by the Research Presentations by the participants which were chaired by internal and external experts. The conference covered various sessions, in which the discussions included the scientific tracks such as operations research, optimization techniques, statistical analysis and forecasting, graph theory, fluid mechanics, differential equations, differential geometry, numerical techniques, discrete mathematics and mathematical modeling and simulation.
Department of Food Technology and Department of Chemistry organized National Conference on Emerging Trends in Food Technology and Advance Chemistry. Dr. G Sathish Kumar, Business Development Manager, Dialatic FESTO India Pvt. Ltd. was the chief guest. He stressed the importance of attending conferences while doing graduation or post-graduation to gather knowledge in the domain of interest. He also talked about self-learning using ICT tools. The event had 4 Technical Sessions.
Technical Session I
The chief guest of the session was Dr. Ahmed Abdul Fazal Head, Department of Food Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, Hassan. He gave a plenary talk on “Status and Opportunities in Meat and Fish Processing” in which he gave a detailed description about the importance of production, consumption, growth pattern, export and import values and opportunities in the fish processing sector. During the presentation, he also spoke about hygiene practices, consumer health and why people should choose the processed meat instead of meat from the wet market.
Technical Session II
The chairpersons of the session were Mr. Sachin Achintalwar, President, AFST (I)-Bangalore Chapter and was co-chaired by Dr. Manjunatha M Associate Professor, College of Agricultural Engineering, GKVK, Bangalore. The session covered papers related to topics like Design and Development of Eutectic Module for Cooling of Raw Milk and its Influence on Microbiological Quality, Biochemical and Microbial Changes in “Fish Paneer‟ Prepared from Tilapia and Common Carp Surimi, Application of Electro-spinning to Develop Edible Packaging Material with Incorporation of Essential Oil, Production of Natural Banana Blossom Concentrate that was benefitted by the presentations and interactive question sessions.
Technical Session III
The chairperson of the session was Dr. Sachin M Eligar, Senior Scientist, Department of Protein Chemistry and Technology, CSIR, CFTRI, Mysore. The session covered papers related to topics like Development of multipurpose mobile solar tunnel dryer for sericulture industry, Dysbacteriosis mediated Urolithiasis via Claudin Epigenetics: Insights into gut-kidney trafficking, Processing and value addition to Fruit and Vegetable (potato chips) that was benefitted by the presentations and interactive question sessions.
Technical Session IV
The chairpersons of the session were Dr. Varanasi Subhose Assistant Director, Department of Dhravyaguna, CARIDD, Kolkata and Dr. A.V. Raghu Professor, Department of Basic Chemistry, SET, Jain (Deemed-to-be University). The session covered papers related to topics like Preparation and Optimization of Lassi Using Universal Disperser, Jambu Fruit Ice cream Physico-chemical Properties of Sorghum Beer, Application of Emerging Novel Pulsed Light Technology in Food Packaging that was benefitted by the presentations and interactive question sessions.
School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Civil and Environment Engineering and Department of Physics organized National Conference on “Recent Advances in Materials, Manufacturing and Design Engineering”. Dr. G Sathish Kumar, Business Development Manager, Dialatic FESTO India Pvt. Ltd. was the chief guest. He stressed the importance of attending conferences while doing graduation or post-graduation to gather knowledge in the domain of interest. He also talked about self-learning using ICT tools.
Technical Session I
The chief guest of the session was Dr. L. M. Das, Professor Emeritus, IIT, Delhi. The chief guest gave a plenary talk on “Potential of Hydrogen Fuel for Transport & Power Sector”, in which he gave a detailed description about different types of alternative fuels and the research scopes available in that particular field. Moreover, he highlighted the importance and technological aspects of using Hydrogen as a fuel in Transport and Power sector. At the end of the lecture, the delegates interacted well to gain further insights and clarifications.
Technical Session II
The chairperson of the session was Dr. Shashi Shankar A, Head of Civil Engineering department, AMCE Bangalore. The session covered papers related to topics like Concrete, Fly-Ash, Nano Materials, and Environmental Impact Analysis. The delegates and faculty members of the Civil Engineering department benefitted by the presentations and interactive question sessions. At the end of the session, Dr. Shashi Shankar summarized the session citing important results and conclusions, also provided suggestions to further improve the quality of works presented.
Certificates for best papers from session-I, session-II were also awarded and the delegates gave their feedback on the conference.
School of Computer Science and Engineering organized National Conference on Recent Advances in Computer Science & Information Technology” (RACSIT-2019). The chief guest of the session was Mr. G. Sathish Kumar, Business Development Manager, Dialactic FESTO India Private Ltd.
The event had three parallel session of Research Presentations by the participants which were chaired by internal experts. The articles from around the nation were received. The selected papers were peer reviewed and published in conference proceedings with ISBN no.
