M.Tech. in Energy and Environmental Management

Why take this course?

Energy has been called the ultimate resource for two reasons: Primarily, without energy all the other resources on the planet are unobtainable. Secondly, unlike water or carbon, energy cannot itself be re-cycled. The collection and utilization of energy can have a huge environmental impact and both industrialists and environmental regulators have a growing need for professionals who can understand and deal with these problems. Center for Emerging Technology, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is providing Masters of Technology in Energy and Environmental Management & Climate Change Technology.

What will I experience?

Innovative teaching and research excellence

The state of art curriculum promotes independent thinking and learning at an individual's pace.

The programs nurture you to meet the global competency in industry and academics.

What opportunities might it lead to?

Energy engineers are needed to address some of the most challenging issues facing the global economies, namely how to

  • Deliver energy to a growing global population (6.4 billion people now, to 8.1 billion in 2030 - 1.6 billion people today have no access to electricity)
  • Reduce the human impact on the climate (energy accounts for 80% of greenhouse gas emissions)
  • Prepare for the global peaking of oil production and further price increase with innovative, sustainable engineering solutions
  • Launch a proactive approach to problems faced by the power and energy industries of an aging workforce, infrastructure degradation, and technology development deficiencies. This is where energy engineering becomes important as there is an urgent need and increasing demand worldwide for people trained to design, operate, maintain and optimize sustainable energy systems, the corner stones of a sustainable energy development initiative.
