A Workshop on "Smartphone Addiction and Overcoming Challenges by Yoga Practices"

The cognitive research team of the School of Engineering and Technology, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) had organized a workshop on “Smartphone Addiction and Overcoming Challenges by Yoga Practices” on 4 December 2019. The event was conducted by the expert team from “Anveshana- Research Wing” of SVYASA-Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore.
Dr. Hariprasad S A, Director, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) presided the event and also briefed about the challenges faced by the present generation students especially in focusing on their career growth. Dr. Deepeshwar, Principal Scientist, SVYASA enlightened the participants with the necessity of the research and scientific teams to holistically develop solutions for the identified challenges faced by the present generation and henceforth develop a healthy society. Mr. Krishna Chaitanya briefed on the effects of mobile phone usage and how yoga can help in overcoming the addiction to use mobile phones. A questioner was distributed to all the participants to analyze their level of addiction towards mobile phones.
The session was interactive and lively where the discussion was on the student’s lifestyle and the stress they accumulate into their brain cells due to unhealthy practices. The presentation by the expert team created awareness for all the participants and triggered their minds to reduce the usage of mobile phones besides practicing yoga.
