Key Highlights of the UG Minor Degree Program from IIITH:

Certificate Issuance:

  • Students will have the option to receive certificates from IIITH upon successful completion of each semester.
  • These certificates will be issued in three parts over the course of the program, recognizing incremental progress.

Minor Degree Recognition:

  • University has the discretion to award a minor degree to their students, utilizing the certificates issued by IIITH.
  • This option allows students to earn additional credentials and enhance their academic profile.

Research Internships:

  • Top performers in the Minor Program will be considered for research internships at IIITH.
  • These internships provide an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience and deepen their expertise in their field of study.

Note:

  • An additional cost is applicable for enrolling in the UG Minor Degree Program.
  • To earn the minor degree, students must earn an additional 20 credits on top of their regular credits as part of the curriculum.

Minor Degree in 'Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development (IEV)'

Entrepreneurs now play a key role in driving our economy by enhancing employment opportunities, driving savings and per capita income, and generating additional revenue for the government.

Minor degree in IEV measures student's innovation & entrepreneurial endeavors at 4 levels such as; 'Attitude', 'Ability', 'Aspiration' and 'Achievement' as a result of the creative efforts and entrepreneurial engagements throughout the study period. It adopts a mix method of formative and summative assessments to capture the efforts and quantify it terms of credits. Student can earn up to 25 credits to meet the internship credit requirement and by earning up to 20 credits, he/she can claim for a minor degree in Innovation, Entrepreneurial and Venture Development (IEV).

IEV minor degree program objectives

  • Awareness towards Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

  • Development of Proof of Concept
  • Understand the Product development process and Business model creation.
  • Understanding the aspects of Startup registration and IP generation

Certificate Issuance

The certificate will be issued by the Institute Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE) & Chenraj Roychand Centre for Entrepreneurship (CRCE).

Minor Degree Recognition

  • This minor degree is offered as per the MoE's & AICTE circular on minor degree in 'Innovation, Entrepreneurial and Venture Development (IEV)' for UG Program Alternatively, an Internship Credit Fulfillment as per the AICTE Internship Policy.

  • This program is offered by JAIN deemed to be university for the benefit of students from ALL engineering branches of JAIN entering 3rd semester with only one additional subject (3 credits) per semester and an industrial internship in the final year.
  • Certificates will be issued by FCRC after completion of each year
  • University has the discretion to award a minor degree utilizing the certificates issued by FCRC
  • This option allows students to earn additional credentials and enhance their academic profile
  • The program will provide an excellent opportunity for the students to gain hands-on experience and deepen their knowledge in fire and safety
