B.Tech. Lateral Entry Admissions
The B.Tech Lateral Entry pathway enables diploma holders or equivalent qualified candidates to directly join the third semester (second year) of the B.Tech degree programme at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). This route is designed to recognise prior learning and technical experience, allowing students to seamlessly continue their academic progression without repetition of foundational coursework.
The programme emphasises a value-based and project-oriented learning ecosystem, ensuring that lateral entry students are integrated into the same experiential, industry-relevant academic structure as regular entrants. A candidate who has passed any Diploma or B.Sc. (PCM, PMCs, PME) or equivalent examination and scored a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.) marks taken together in all the compulsory subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) will be eligible for admission to the B.Tech courses.
