About Department
Information Science & Engineering (ISE) Department was established in the year 2005 to cater to the growing requirements of professionals in the emerging field of Information science and engineering. Since its inception, it has made rapid growth in imparting quality education in the areas of information technologies. The ISE Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) has a team of high-skilled faculty members who strive for excellence. Additionally, the ISE Department has exceptional computing facilities for the students as well as faculty to carry out research work.
Information Science and Engineering is a crucial field in the 21st century, encompassing Analytics, Cloud Computing, Business Informatics, Internet of Things, and Cyber Security. The program provides hands-on training, project development opportunities, and a curriculum covering software development and hardware troubleshooting. Students can specialize in areas like Machine Learning, IoT (Internet of Things), Software Testing, Cloud Computing, and more. The department offers state-of-the-art computing laboratories and focuses on quality academic inputs, innovation, real-world scenarios, and teamwork. Graduates have excellent job prospects in MNCs and IT service companies.
B.Tech. in Information Science & Engineering is the best option for those interested in investigating the properties and behavior of information. This discipline is a combination of interdisciplinary aspects that includes mathematics, computer science, communications, management, law, philosophy, social sciences, public policy, and many more.
On completion of the Information Science & Engineering program, students will possess the following program specific outcomes:
A student who has passed 10+2 examination (level 4.0) with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory courses, along with one of the following: Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship, shall be eligible for admission to B.Tech. programmes. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
OR
Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
(The University will offer bridge courses in Physics and Mathematics, along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship, for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to prepare level playing field and desired learning outcomes of the programme).
RESERVATION CATEGORY: The University follows the percentage of Reservation for SC/ST & OBC Category as prescribed by the Central Government.
Passed a minimum three-year / two-year (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination (Level 4.5) with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of Engineering and Technology.
OR
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
OR
Passed B.Voc/3-year D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
