Dr. Chenraj Roychand, a distinguished Indian educationist, entrepreneur, great investor, innovator and philanthropist with over 40 years of experience, is the Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Along with creating educational opportunities, Dr. Roychand also initiated in investing for firms, which provide the platform for youngsters to become entrepreneurs. He was conferred the Degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) for his contribution to social work, education and philanthropy by the Mangalore University, Karnataka. He is also the governing board member of prestigious Institute of Rural Development Management Anand (IRMA). He is also involved in welfare driven, meticulously conceived projects focusing on health care, education, sustainable livelihood, and social causes that distinctively impact the quality of life.
Dr. M. Arulprakasajothi is a distinguished academician, researcher, and innovation leader with over two decades of teaching excellence and nearly a decade of dedicated research experience. He brings a strong interdisciplinary approach that bridges advanced thermal sciences with grassroots innovation.

Dr. M. Arulprakasajothi is a distinguished academician, researcher, and innovation leader with over two decades of teaching excellence and nearly a decade of dedicated research experience. He brings a strong interdisciplinary approach that bridges advanced thermal sciences with grassroots innovation.
A SERB-TARE Fellow with postdoctoral research experience at IIT Mandi (2022–2025), Dr. Arulprakasajothi has established himself as a globally recognized researcher, ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide (2021–2024). He has authored 82 SCI/Scopus publications, including 15 in Q1 journals, and has amassed over 2,950 citations with an h-index of 27.
His research expertise spans metal 3D printing, nanomaterials for thermal systems, energy storage, and thermal management, with practical innovations such as advanced regenerators for nitrogen liquefaction and 3D Printed heat sink for electronic cooling systems. He has successfully secured and managed major funded projects, including the AICTE IDEA Lab (₹90 lakhs) and SERB/TARE, reinforcing his leadership in building innovation ecosystems.
Beyond research, he is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers, having guided more than 5 Ph.D. scholars and actively promoting the learning by doing framework in technical education. His global collaborations with institutions like West Virginia University (USA) and the University of Tokyo (Japan) reflect his international academic engagement and vision.
Deputy Director (Industry Interface and Training)
Dr. Deepak K. Sinha, Deputy Director (Industry & Student Relations) at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), possesses a strong professional background and exceptional leadership skills in the field. With in-depth knowledge of Computer Science and related disciplines, he has developed effective teaching strategies and delivered engaging presentations to students and corporate clients.
Having accumulated over 20 years of experience in teaching and research, Dr. Sinha has made notable contributions to the academic community. He played a crucial role in a UNDP project focused on Ethiopian Universities, dedicating more than 6 years to this endeavor.
Dr. Sinha holds degrees at various levels of education in Computer Science, including UG, PG, and Ph.D. Currently, he completed his PGD in AI/ML from NIT, Warangal.
Deputy Dean – Academics at FET, Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Venkadeshwaran K is working as Deputy Dean – Academics at Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering in JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He has over 20 years of experience in teaching, and 4 years of research experience as Senior Research fellow in School of Laser Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He had worked as a senior research fellow in School of Laser Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata under state government departmental fellowship. Dr. Venkadeshwaran K obtained his doctorate degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal in 2012. He completed his post-graduation from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore in 2002 and pursued graduation from Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu in 2001.
His research interests include Additive Manufacturing, Laser Processing, Renewable Energy Systems, and Sensor Technology. He has made notable contributions in areas such as pressure sensing through photonic crystals, laser cladding on stainless steel alloys, Laser structuring and modeling of Laser transmission welding. He had obtained funded projects from government organisations like DST- SERB and VGST, Karnataka for projects related to Laser forming and PCM based solar drier for a total worth of around 80 lakh
Dr. Venkadeshwaran is recognized as an experienced educator with a strong background in research and development, particularly in the areas of laser technology, renewable energy systems, and advanced manufacturing processes.
Deputy Dean – Research, Faculty of Engineering and Technology
Dr. Beemkumar Nagappan is the Deputy Dean – Research at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru. He leads the development of a globally competitive research ecosystem aligned with the JU Transformation vision, focusing on excellence, innovation, and global impact. With over 18 years of academic and research experience, he works to strengthen research quality, improve citation impact, and build strong international collaborations.
He has secured research funding from agencies such as AICTE and VGST, Government of Karnataka, and actively mentors faculty to enhance research productivity and global engagement. Dr. Beemkumar has been recognized among Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists Worldwide for four consecutive years (2021–2024). He has published over 290 research papers in reputed journals, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 400, an h-index of 39, and more than 5000 citations. He holds 31 Indian patents, along with international patents and design grants.
As part of the JU Transformation initiative, he is building interdisciplinary research clusters, strengthening industry partnerships, and expanding global academic collaborations. Under his leadership, in collaboration with the Director – Innovation, the Centre for Grassroot Research and Innovation has been established to promote inclusive innovation, support community-driven solutions, and translate grassroots ideas into scalable technologies. He plays a key role in aligning research with performance indicators such as quality, impact, innovation, and international outlook.
Under his leadership, B.Tech programs (Aero, CSE, ECE, ISE, Mechanical) have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), reflecting strong academic quality and outcome-based education.
His research interests include thermal energy systems, nano-encapsulated phase change materials (PCM), clean energy technologies, fuel cells, emission reduction in IC engines, and solar-powered refrigeration systems.
Dr. Beemkumar continues to promote a research culture that combines academic excellence, industry relevance, and societal impact, positioning the institution as a center for innovation and sustainable development.
Dr. S. B. Benaka Prasad is a distinguished academician, researcher, and institutional leader with over 19 years of experience spanning academia, research, and industry. Serving as Professor and Deputy Dean – Student Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), he plays a pivotal role in student welfare, academic governance, and institutional development. He is a member of the Academic Council of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and has held key administrative positions including Head of Department – Basic Sciences, Chairman of the Board of Examiners, and Coordinator of B.Tech Induction Programs. He has been actively involved in accreditation and quality assurance processes, contributing significantly to initiatives of NBA, NAAC, NIRF, AICTE, and UGC.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Benaka Prasad specializes in analytical method development and validation, molecular docking, DFT studies, and the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, with hands-on expertise in advanced chromatographic techniques including GC, HPLC, UPLC, and TLC. He has authored over 50 research publications in reputed international journals and conferences, and holds 9 patents in the areas of nanomaterials, anticancer compounds, and analytical instrumentation. He is a life member of the Society for Biological Chemists (SBC), the Indian Crystallographic Association (ICA), and the Indian Association for Crystal Growth (IACG), reflecting his sustained commitment to scientific advancement and excellence in higher education.
