Saileja Sahu shines at the Microsoft AI Tour! With passion and dedication, a JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) student completed the Microsoft AI Odyssey challenge and earned the opportunity to meet Satya Nadella, CEO and Chairman of Microsoft. Kudos to the School of CSE and FET faculty for leading and guiding Saileja, Yash V, and Prince Gupta to this remarkable opportunity.
The "Ultimate AI Challenge," powered by Google Cloud and hosted by MinusZero, featured an intense 36-hour hackathon in HSR Layout on October 28th and 29th. Akshat Kashyap, Nishtha Jain, Diksha Chakravarty, and A. Ananya, all students of B.Tech CSE -AI&ML represented JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) at the event.
Judges conducted three rounds of presentations, challenging participants to create photo-realisticurban Indian driving scenes and temporally consistent videos from given reference videos. It was gruelling but the team from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) left its mark at the hackathon. Our students developed an algorithm focused on generating photorealistic images of urban driving scenes in India. This innovation holds tremendous potential for autonomous vehicle training, testing, and road development models.
The algorithm captures Indian road complexities, including traffic, unexpected events, and various weather conditions. The resulting "Indian Roads Images Dataset and Model Repository," crafted during the hackathon, is now available for public use, aiding in road condition analysis and related tasks. The custom-trained Stable Diffusion architecture empowers users to generate specific images by providing prompts, enabling them to refine and achieve their desired outputs. We're immensely proud of our students for their exceptional work and dedication toward advancing AI innovation.
Team Gucci Gang, comprising of Vaibhav Kulshreshtha, a student of AI&ML, along with Cyber Security students, Aparna Meenakshi Sundaram, Sameera Rallabandi, and Abhinav Harsha emerged as the winners at the CXO Innofest Hackathon. Their project focused on fake news detection, and took top honours at the event, surpassing more than 50 teams from across India.
In a world increasingly plagued by misinformation, Gucci Gang's innovative solution proved instrumental in addressing this critical issue. Leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence, their project demonstrated the ability to detect and combat fake news effectively.
During the hackathon, our team had the privilege of engaging in insightful discussions about the future of their project with Lt. Gen (Dr) Rajesh Pant, Former Cyber Security Adviser to PM Modi, a prominent figure in the cybersecurity and innovation ecosystem. This interaction further fuelled our enthusiasm for the potential impact of the team’s work.
