About the Programme

The B. Tech programme in Aeronautical Engineering, offered by the Department of Aerospace Engineering, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) one of the best Aeronautical Engineering colleges in Bangalore, is designed to meet the current requirements of the aviation sector. It deals with all the fundamental aspects and advanced topics related to aircraft design, materials, manufacturing, maintenance and allied activities. Students will be well-equipped with the necessary knowledge for a challenging and exciting career in aeronautics and related industries.

It deals with vehicles which fly within Earth's atmosphere like airplanes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The specific objective of the program is to develop aeronautical engineers with skills in the design of aircraft/helicopters, and engineering analysis of aircraft components and systems using engineering tools such as 3DEXPERIENCE, MSC- Patran Nastran, Ansys-CFD, and MATLAB. The courses include aerodynamics, aircraft materials, aircraft structures, aircraft propulsion, flight mechanics, navigation and controls, and avionics. The graduates will also undergo experiential learning through industrial visits, Flight Lab at IIT Kanpur, industrial training through internships and research projects.

Why take this course?

With the fast growth of aviation sector technical manpower skilled in aircraft design, avionics, and aircraft maintenance engineering will be in great need. Trained manpower in Aeronautical Engineering is in demand to support indigenous civil aircraft design program. Furthermore Indian Air Force, Navy and Military require Aeronautical Engineers to provide technical support to their advanced aircraft and aircraft systems. With increased thrust towards made in India objective, aeronautical industry in India is poised for a quantum jump in entrepreneurial opportunities. In support of this, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is offering B. Tech – Aeronautical Engineering. The program is designed to meet the industry standards and transform the graduates into ready to employ professionals.

What will I experience?

As the program is designed with the help of experts from aeronautics domain, it supports students to strengthen their knowledge and skill for better career opportunities in aircraft industry. The course will help students with the following:

  • Gain detailed knowledge of fundamentals of aerodynamics and aircraft structures
  • Master the theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft engines
