Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) organized an online guest lecture titled “Machine Design Using Python” on May 15, 2021. A total of 75 students attended the lecture. The coordinators for the event were Professor. Abhijeeth Nagaraj and Professor N Karthik from FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). The guest speaker for the lecture was Dr. Bharath V G, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, CMR University, Bengaluru.
The lecture started with the brief introduction of the guest speaker by Abhijeeth Nagaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). The lecture intended to provide an interdisciplinary approach to working. It highlighted the significance of the usage of computers to certain aspects of machine design in mechanical engineering. The guest lecture aimed at educating the faculties and students on how to approach the regular methods of problem-solving with the use of computations. It was emphasized that such practices make students learn, apply, evaluate, and analyze designs at a faster pace.
Post an hour-long informative speech the session was open for questions and discussions. The guest lecture concluded with a vote of thanks for the guest speaker by Professor N Karthik. The event also included a feedback session for the participants, and the responses were mostly positive. Overall the event was a success and provided valuable insights into the topic.
