JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) - Faculty of Engineering and Technology, recently organised a Faculty Development Programme (FDP), titled ‘Power Electronics Applications in Microgrid using AI.’ This event spanned six days, from the 9th Dec - 14th Dec, 2024, and was conducted online, opening up the way for faculty members of engineering colleges, science teachers, research scholars, entrepreneurs, and industrial participants.
The esteemed guest attendees included the JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) officials such as Dr. Raj Singh, Vice Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Registrar, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), and Dr. Shradha Kanwar, Chief Academic Officer, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).
The event witnessed a maximum enrollment of 197 Students/Faculty/Non-Teaching Staff, and 176 were active participants n in the FDP. The programme’s chief guests and participants addressed challenges in power electronics through microgrids, emphasising the role of converters in energy efficiency and AI techniques for enhanced control. The discussion highlighted intelligent strategies to optimise converters, improving energy quality and reducing congestion.
The six-day programme featured sessions on renewable energy, power electronics, and microgrid technologies. Experts such as Dr. Kodeeswara Kumaran and Dr. Pushpa Rajesh discussed microgrid controllers and renewable energy systems.
AI applications in solar grids and smart energy utilisation were highlighted by Dr. Animesh Kumar Sahoo and Dr. Kumaravel S. Topics such as power converters, BESS, solar panel design, and intelligent microgrid operations were covered by Dr. Ezhilarasan, Dr. Maganti, and Mr. Dilip J.
Industry experts shared insights on solar energy and wind turbines, while sessions by Dr. Balakrishna Pamulaparthy and others explored smart grids, DC-DC converters, and VLSI in energy management. The discussion was enriching and insightful, with attendees engaging in meaningful dialogue.
