NSS led Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Celebrations

The NSS volunteer students of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) celebrated the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” with the children of Government High School Paduvanagere, Kankapura on 5th November 2022. The event was organised at the Government High School, Paduvanagere, as a part of “Vigilance Awareness Week” which is observed between October 31st to November 6th every year.

The Rashtriya Ekta Divas or National Unity Day is celebrated every year on October 31st to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was responsible for the unification of India after independence.

Dr. S.A. Hariprasad in his short speech remembered the achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, while Mr. Raju, the Head Master of Government High School Paduvanagere delivered a speech about the importance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day. The images and newspaper cuttings from the archives about the unification of India were displayed by the volunteers in the school premises.

Further, the volunteers from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) along with the school kids took a pledge of unity and solidarity under the guidance of Dr.S.A. Hariprasad, Director, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) with great enthusiasm.

Pledge
“I Solemnly pledge that I decide myself to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among my fellow countrymen, I take this pledge in the spirit of unification of my country which made possible by the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also solemnly resolve to make my own contribution to ensure internal security of my country”.

All the students cherished the event by learning about the sacrifices and achievements made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Everyone participated with great enthusiasm and the event tried to inculcate the spirit of unity and inspired the students to stay united and serve the nation.
