JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Faculty of Engineering and Technology (JU-FET) hosted Shubha Parva to welcome the incoming batch of B. Tech students (Batch 2021-25) on September 27, 2021.
Hosted on a virtual platform, the event witnessed the distinguished presence of Dr. Chenraj Roychand - Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. Raj Singh - Vice Chancellor JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Mr. Ravindra Bandari - Vice President, JAIN Group, Dr. Sujay Nair- Dean, School of Computer Science & Technology, Dr. Hariprasad S.A, - Director, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. Benaka Prasad S.B – Dean, Basic Sciences. Dr. Hrishikesh Dewan, Co-Founder & CEO Ziroh Labs, Bengaluru, and Mr. Aditya Pal Singh - Director Head Talent Acquisition, Informatica, Bengaluru presided over the session as Chief Guests.
The session began with a soulful rendition by Anindita Gogoi, a VII Semester B. Tech student at the university. Following the invocation, Dr. Benaka Prasad S.B, Dean of Basic Sciences, welcomed and addressed the students highlighting the institution’s academic excellence. He spoke extensively on how hard work, at this juncture, is an essential component for laying a solid foundation for a bright future.
Dr. Chenraj Roychand addressed the students and encouraged them with his motivational speech and perspectives on life. He enlightened the gathering on how a university plays a prominent role in shaping the future of a nation. He shed light on several initiatives undertaken by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) towards nation-building. He urged the incoming students to partake in projects, join various student clubs and committees. Dr. Chenraj Roychand also advised the students that while a degree is important to get that job you aim for, always aspire to seek knowledge and never stop learning.
Dr. Raj Singh greeted the students and imparted the significance of engineering education for the betterment of society, advising the students to set the right path for their future. He explained to the students how JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) will prepare them to enrich the world with their ideas.
Dr. Hrishikesh Dewan and Mr. Aditya Pal Singh spoke on how dedication and hard work are two sides of the same coin. As a successful entrepreneur, Dr. Dewan delivered expert advice on students striving to be entrepreneurs upon graduation. Mr. Aditya Pal Singh, as a seasoned talent recruiter, shared information on the latest hiring trends and how to be prepared for in the coming years as they near graduation.
Mr. Ravindra Bandari and Dr. Sujay Nair shared their advice with the students and wished them good luck in their endeavors. They spoke on how students have a plethora of opportunities to explore at the vibrant campus of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET).
Dr. Hariprasad S.A spoke on JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) - Faculty of Engineering and Technology brings various academic opportunities, high-impact sessions hosted by industry veterans and expert faculty members. He wished the students all the best for their academic journey.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kokila Ramesh - Head of Department, Mathematics. Prof. Archana from the Department of Chemistry was the master of the ceremony.
