School of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) organized a webinar titled ‘Communication Using MATLAB’ on June 4, 2021. A total of 1054 participants, comprising students and faculty members from ECE and other departments, attended the event. The guest speaker for the webinar was Mr. Jishnu R, Project Engineer, Pantech Solutions. Mr. Jishnu works with different embedded applications, convertor designs, robotic applications, and the cloud interface for IoT applications.
The webinar included an extensive hands-on lab emphasizing demonstration and application of MATLAB techniques and skills. The webinar focused on how MATLAB helps design and simulate communications systems with enhanced speed and accuracy. The webinar imparted the fundamental understanding of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and explained how this technology is a building block for many current modulation schemes. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is done using MATLAB. Using the communication toolbox, the whole procedure was explained with examples of the basics of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing. The webinar showed communication between two sources using the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing technique and demonstrated it through MATLAB Simulation. The participants at the end of the event could create system software pertaining to communication using MATLAB. The online workshop aimed at participants with a keen interest in learning the communication between two systems using MATLAB.
The coordinators for the event were Dr. Shweta Gupta, Associate Professor, ECE Department, FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), and Dr. Hamsa S., Assistant Professor, ECE Department, FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Overall the webinar was a success and generated appreciation from all the participants for its informative nature.
