Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) organized an online guest lecture titled “FEA in the Automotive Industry” as part of the lecture series conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on May 15, 2021. The keynote speaker for the event was Mr. Sanjay M, a freelancer, and an FEA specialist. A total of 66 students attended the lecture.

The lecture emphasized the significance of Finite Element Analysis or FEA to provide customers the best technology has to offer. The lecture mentioned that it is essential for any mechanical engineer aspiring to be a design engineer to know the industrial processes and tools involved. It focused on how the invention of FEA and other computer simulations have made designs in mechanical industries undergo a rapid change. The guest lecture aimed at educating the faculties and students on how to approach industrial problems. The event enabled the students to understand the current market expectations to help them prepare better for the professional world.

The lecture started with the brief introduction of the keynote speaker by Karthik N, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Post an hour-long informative speech, the session was open for questions and discussions. The guest lecture concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Abhijeeth Nagaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). The event also included a feedback session for the participants, and the responses were mostly positive.
