India is one of the largest and fastest-growing economies in the world and its transportation system offers a diversified mix of two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers and different public transport. This gives enormous potential and opportunity for electrification across various industries. In this milieu, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with IEEE PELS, Bangalore Chapter jointly organised a webinar on Electrification of vehicles - Challenges and solutions on 14th April 2022. The chief guest for the session was Mr. Kedar Deo, Senior Technical Manager at Hexagon MI.
The faculty coordinator Dr. Balamurugan M, Assistant Professor - Department of EEE, FET, welcomed the chief guest and introduced him to the audience. The speaker started the session by highlighting major factors driving the electrification of vehicles, EV market trends, and the anatomy of electric vehicles. Next, he discussed the challenges faced as an EV consumer, EV designer, and EV manufacturer. Mr. Kedar Deo holds a master's degree in automotive engineering and has 18+ years of experience in the field of NVH, acoustics, automotive and engineering solutions. He also shared challenges faced in EV design and manufacturing and solutions for it.
Around 125 participants joined this one-hour session in which they cleared many doubts. The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks to the speaker.
