3D Printing also known as Additive Manufacturing is an emerging technology revolutionizing the manufacturing industry today. This technology is employed to build products in almost every sector. 3D Printing is one of the most demanding undergraduate programs. students who are passionate about design and want to be in the forefront of technology may prefers this course.
For the first time in India, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) started industry supported course on B.Tech with specialization in 3D Printing. The education delivery methodology is a blend of classroom and Industrial learning. Students will be exposed to experiential learning in 3D Printing technology through laboratory demonstrations and hands on participation in live industry focused R&D projects. Some of the courses will be handled by the experts from the Industry. During the final year, the students will undergo internship and carry out their project in the Industry.
The demand for skilled professional in the 3D Printing industry is growing day by day. Many MNCs are in need of qualified engineers in AM technology to design and fabricate parts/items for various applications including engineering, agricultural, jewelry, textile, food, medical etc.
Since it is a cutting edge technology, there is lot of scope for choosing research as a career in this field. Survey says that in the last 4 years, number of jobs ad related to this industry has gone increased almost 2000%. The technology is poised to explode and will create tremendous job opportunity for the 3D Printing and Design graduates.
