Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) organized a guest lecture titled “Mechanical Vibration and its Concepts” on May 25, 2021. The event took place under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Bhat, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FET, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).

The guest speaker for the event was Dr. N.V.N Aradhya, Professor - Mechanical Engineering Department, R V College of Engineering, Bangalore. Dr. Aradhya has a rich teaching experience of 25 years with numerous publications in journals and conferences under his name.

The lecture intended to empower and enlighten the 5th year students of mechanical engineering who are currently undertaking the subject of Mechanical Vibrations in their course work. The session started with Dr. Bhat introducing the speaker to the participants. The presentation by the keynote speaker included basic concepts of free vibrations with and without damper, forced vibrations, vibration measurement equipment, etc. Dr. Bhat thanked Dr. Aradhya on behalf of the entire FET for accepting the invitation and sharing his valuable knowledge with students. The event also included a feedback session for the participants, and the responses were mostly positive. Overall the lecture was a success and very informative.
