The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CTIS/CTMA), Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), organised an expert talk on “Transforming Cloud Data Engineering with Generative AI” on 12th February 2025. The session, held at the FET Seminar Hall, engaged 192 students from B.Tech (CSE-CTIS/CTMA, CSE-AI, CSE-DS) and M.Tech (Cyber Security, CSE, AI and DS). Mr. Saurav Kumar, a seasoned Data Analytics and Engineering Leader with over 17 years of experience, led the session. His expertise in AI/ML technologies, cloud platforms, and big data solutions provided valuable insights into how generative AI revolutionises data workflows, enhances ETL pipelines, and enables real-time data processing. He highlighted sector-specific FinTech, Healthcare, and E-commerce applications, offering real-world case studies of AI-driven data infrastructure transformation.

The session successfully met its objectives by equipping students with an understanding of integrating generative AI models into cloud data engineering workflows and optimising data pipelines. Participants gained practical knowledge of AI applications in automating data ingestion, transformation, and analysis while adhering to the best data governance and security practices. The session concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the relevance and clarity of the concepts discussed.
