Faculty Development Program

Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a three days’ faculty development program on “Physics of Materials” from 28 to 30 May 2020. The event received more than 2000 applications out of a panel to scrutinized the applications and selected 500 applicants to attend the FDP.

In the first session the speaker, Dr. Chandrasekhar Shastry, Dean, PG studies Jain (Deemed-to-be-University), briefed on Photonic Materials. In the second session, Dr. N Shanti, Professor, and Head in Department of Physics, CPGS, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) explained about Novel materials and Band Structures Studies. The third session for day two was delivered by a keynote speaker, Dr. B. Darauka Prasad, Professor, BMSIT, Bangalore. The topic of the session was Characterization Techniques for Nanoscale Materials. The fourth session on day two was delivered by a keynote Dr. Maltesh S. Akkur, Professor, Department of Electronics, School of Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), and the topic of the session was Simulation of Electronic Circuits. Most of the faculty members got to know about conducting lab experiments on a virtual platform using simulation techniques. On day three, a keynote speaker, Dr. B. M. Nagabhusana, Professor, MSRIT Bangalore gave a brief introduction on Nano Oxides for Technological Applications. In the last session Dr. Sambandam Ravikumar, Principal Scientist, Multi-Disciplinary Centre for Biomedical Research, Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital spoke on the topic Biosynthesis of Nanoparticles and its Applications.
