Bengaluru, 11th March 2026: Students from the Department of Computer Science - Software Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) participated in the Squid Game Challenge - 2026. The event tested coding, logical reasoning, and teamwork skills in a series of fast-paced challenges. It was held on 11th March 2026 at JAIN Global Campus, Jakkasandra Post, Kanakpura Taluk. The FOSS Club of the Department organised the competition, providing students with a platform to apply their technical skills in an interactive setting.
The event attracted 210 registrations, with 108 students actively competing across multiple rounds. Designed to combine learning with practical challenges, the competition encouraged participants to apply programming skills, logical thinking, and strategic decision-making in a collaborative environment.
The programme began with an inaugural session, which included a welcome address and an overview of the competition format. The event was attended by Shri Ravindra Bhandary, Vice President, JAIN Group; Dr Deepak Sinha, Deputy Director; Dr Benaka Prasad, Deputy Dean (Student Affairs); Dr Santhosh S, Programme Coordinator; N. Shanthakumar, FOSS Club Faculty Coordinator; Dr Antony Raj, Professor; Dr Ramesh Babu, Associate Professor; Dr Janarthanan Sekar; and Mr Karthikeyan S from the Department of CSE - Software Engineering.
The competition featured four rounds. ‘Red Light Green Light’ tested memory and speed through a timed MCQ challenge. The ‘Dalgona Coding Challenge' required precise coding under limited execution attempts. In the ‘Face-Off Coding Duel’, teams competed head-to-head to solve coding or logical tasks quickly. The final ‘Memory Challenge’ evaluated observation and recall as finalists reproduced briefly displayed patterns.
Team CP won the competition, with Team LP as first runner-up and The Satyaarth team as second runner-up. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks.
Faculty coordinators observed that the challenge reinforced problem-solving, collaboration, and decision-making skills. The event provided an engaging environment for students to apply technical knowledge while fostering teamwork and strategic thinking.
