ISE Students Gain Industry Insights During Visit to IMIT Park, Thrissur

Bengaluru, 9 March 2026: As part of the department’s experiential learning programme, students of the Department of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) visited the International Media and Information Technology (IMIT) Park to gain practical exposure to professional IT operations. A group of 34 second-year B.Tech students participated in the visit, observing industry practices and engaging with technology experts to understand the application of classroom concepts in real-world settings.

Guided by Dr K. Manivannan, Head of the Department, and accompanied by Dr A. R. Chayapathi and Prof V. Nirupa, the students explored the working environment of a leading IT company renowned for its technology-driven solutions in website and mobile application development, digital marketing, search engine optimisation, media solutions, branding, and graphic design.

During the visit, students observed ongoing projects and engaged with industry professionals who shared insights into software development practices, digital product creation, and the competencies expected of engineering graduates entering the IT sector. The interaction allowed students to connect theoretical concepts from their curriculum with practical applications in a professional environment.

The programme also encouraged discussion on emerging trends in IT, collaborative project management, and the role of innovative digital solutions in business operations. Students gained a first-hand appreciation of the workflow, tools, and technologies that underpin modern IT organisations, fostering both curiosity and motivation to pursue advanced learning in their field.

The Department of Information Science & Engineering extends its gratitude to the University leadership for supporting the initiative and to IMIT Park for hosting the students and facilitating a comprehensive industry interaction. Such experiential learning initiatives reflect the Faculty of Engineering and Technology’s commitment to providing students with opportunities that complement academic learning with industry exposure, strengthening their preparedness for professional careers in technology and engineering.
