300 Innovators Power JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Inaugural 24-Hour 'Building the Future' Hackathon

Bengaluru, 27 September 2025: JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) has successfully concluded its inaugural JU Hack-a-thon, a continuous 24-hour innovation challenge that brought together 300 students from various disciplines. The event, held from 25 to 26 September 2025 at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) Block, Jain Global Campus, was a collaborative initiative organised by the Chenraj Roychand Centre for Entrepreneurship (CRCE), the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), and IIAEM.

The JU Hack-a-thon served as a major highlight of the JAIN Entrepreneurship Festival Week 2025, an institution-wide celebration of innovation. The event’s core purpose was to challenge students to apply technology and collaborative skills to “Building the Future—Engineering a New World.” Of the 100 registered teams, 80 ultimately participated, developing practical, real-world solutions based on emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, and Sustainable Technology.

Over the 24 hours, participants benefited from consistent guidance provided by experienced mentors from the FET and CRCE, alongside industry experts who formed the judging panel. This structure ensured that the teams not only coded but also received constructive feedback to refine their prototypes and business viability. The intensive schedule included three phases of judging throughout the day and night to assess technical depth, functionality, and innovation. The top three winning teams were announced at the closing ceremony and have been shortlisted for incubation and mentorship under CRCE’s startup support initiatives.

A key organiser from the Chenraj Roychand Centre for Entrepreneurship commented on the high level of engagement: “The energy and technical proficiency demonstrated by the 300 participants were truly inspiring. The Hack-a-thon is more than a competition; it is a critical platform for strengthening real-world skills, forcing students to operate under pressure, and immediately fostering the entrepreneurial mindset that is vital for future engineers and innovators."

The successful execution of the JU Hack-a-thon underscored the university's commitment to hands-on, problem-based learning and entrepreneurial skill development. The event’s immediate impact includes providing participants with tangible experience in project implementation and reinforcing teamwork, leadership, and project management capabilities. Following this success, the university plans to make the JU Hack-a-thon an annual fixture of the JAIN Entrepreneurship Festival Week, with an expanded scope for next year's edition to incorporate a wider range of interdisciplinary challenges.
