Women’s Day Programme at FET Focuses on Health Awareness and Academic Contributions

Bengaluru, 13th March 2026: The Women Cell of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), conducted an International Women’s Day programme on 13th March 2026 at the JAIN Global Campus. Organised in collaboration with the Cultural Club, Student Affairs, and NSS, the event brought together women faculty members for a structured programme centred on health awareness, professional recognition, and community engagement.

The session opened with a formal welcome, followed by a ceremonial inauguration and addresses by Dr Benaka Prasad, Deputy Dean (Student Affairs), and Dr Deepak Sinha, Deputy Director (Industry and Students Interface), who acknowledged the contributions of women in academic and professional spaces. A key segment of the programme was a cancer awareness session delivered by Dr Kavana from the Department of Radiation Oncology at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. The session focused on early detection and prevention of breast and cervical cancer, highlighting the importance of regular screening, vaccination, and lifestyle choices in reducing health risks.

The programme also included an alumni interaction by Ms Shravani, who spoke on professional growth and peer support among women. Two faculty members, Dr K. Eshwari and Dr Manjula T R, were recognised as Women Achievers for their contributions to research and academia. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Anita Chaturvedi, Coordinator of the Women Cell.

The latter half of the event featured cultural performances and interactive activities, encouraging participation and informal engagement among attendees. The programme combined awareness, recognition, and community interaction, reinforcing the importance of health education, academic contribution, and collective support within the institutional environment.
