AI and Electric Vehicle Integration: Defining the Microgrid Landscape of 2030 at FET

Bengaluru, 13th February 2026: The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), JAIN (Deemed-to-be-University) successfully hosted a high-level technical session titled “Future Microgrids Integration 2030: AI Integration & Electric Vehicles” on 13th February 2026. This online initiative was curated to address the critical convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainable energy infrastructure, providing students with a sophisticated understanding of the technological shifts defining the next decade of power systems.

The program focused on the transformative role of AI in enhancing grid resilience and efficiency. Expert speakers detailed the transition toward next-generation microgrid architecture, specifically highlighting AI-driven load forecasting and automated grid optimisation. Central to the discussion was the integration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) into the modern grid, encompassing Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, smart charging networks, and advanced battery energy storage systems. Through simulation-based demonstrations, participants explored how predictive maintenance and demand response strategies are essential for stabilising decentralised energy networks.

Designed as an experiential learning platform, the session encouraged students to move beyond theoretical frameworks. Faculty mentors and industry experts facilitated interactive segments where participants analysed real-world case studies on renewable energy integration. By linking academic curricula in electrical engineering with emerging industry demands, the event underscored the university’s commitment to producing future-ready engineers capable of navigating the complexities of smart energy ecosystems.

The session concluded with an emphasis on the necessity of continuous technological adaptability and research orientation. As the global energy sector pivots toward intelligent automation and sustainable planning by 2030, JAIN (Deemed-to-be-University) remains at the forefront of technical enrichment. This initiative marks a significant step in the university’s ongoing mission to foster innovation and collaborative engagement within the fields of AI-powered power systems and green technology.
