Bengaluru, 13 June 2026: The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), formally inaugurated the FET Alumni Association on 13 June 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening long-term engagement between the institution and its graduates. The event brought together alumni, directors, deputy directors, deans, heads of departments, programme heads, and alumni faculty coordinators to establish a structured platform for collaboration and contribution.
The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the beginning of a renewed institutional-alumni partnership. The welcome address, delivered by Dr. Garima Sinha, Head - Alumni Affairs and Outreach (FET), highlighted the importance of sustained alumni engagement in enriching student learning experiences through mentorship, internships, research collaboration, and placement support.
Senior leadership, including directors, deputy deans, and heads of departments, addressed the gathering and acknowledged the continued support of alumni in strengthening academic and industry linkages. They emphasised the role of the Alumni Cell in fostering active participation across academic, research, and professional domains, encouraging graduates to contribute meaningfully to institutional development.
A key highlight of the event was the formal constitution of the FET Alumni Association, introducing its office bearers and co-opted members. The association is envisioned as a dynamic platform to enhance alumni interaction and support initiatives such as mentorship programmes, internships, entrepreneurship development, industry collaboration, and student placement opportunities. Discussions among members reflected a shared commitment to building a strong and connected alumni network, with actionable ideas focused on expanding engagement and outreach.
The programme also featured detailed deliberations on strengthening alumni participation across regions and creating structured opportunities for students to benefit from industry exposure and professional guidance. The interactive session, which continued until the afternoon, resulted in a clear roadmap for future initiatives aimed at deepening alumni involvement.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Deepak Kumar Sinha, Deputy Director, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony and group photograph. The inauguration marked a pivotal step in reinforcing institutional bonds and establishing a sustainable framework for collaboration between alumni, students, and faculty, supporting the university’s broader vision of academic excellence and industry integration.
