Chennai, 28 January 2026: A delegation from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), attended the IIT Madras Open House 2026 as part of the “Anaivarukkum IITM” initiative. The visit provided our faculty members with valuable exposure to cutting-edge research infrastructure, interdisciplinary innovations, and student-led technological projects. As an institution committed to hands-on, industry-aligned engineering education, the insights gained are directly relevant to our ongoing curriculum modernisation and laboratory development efforts.
During the visit, several advanced facilities were observed, including the Robotics & AI Labs with autonomous systems and drone swarms, the Aerospace Labs featuring missile and high-speed flow technologies, and the Centre for Innovation, where student teams showcased solar-powered vehicles and autonomous underwater robots. The emphasis on applied learning, prototyping, and real-world problem-solving at IIT Madras aligns closely with FET’s pedagogical goals. Of particular interest were demonstrations by the Wadhwani School of AI on ethical AI and renewable energy projects aimed at sustainable campus operations, both key areas of strategic focus for our academic and research planning.
The visit has inspired actionable ideas for strengthening our project-based learning modules, expanding industry–academia collaborations, and fostering student innovation clubs at FET. We extend our sincere appreciation to IIT Madras for organizing this informative open house and look forward to exploring potential academic and research partnerships in emerging engineering domains.
