Celebration of International Yoga Day at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)

Yoga has emerged as one of the most trusted means to boost physical and mental well-being. The NSS Wing of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) hosted multiple events through online and offline modes to celebrate the 8th International Yoga Day. The day aims to create awareness around the world regarding the benefits of practising the art of Yoga. To celebrate International Yoga Day, programmes involving Yoga were held in different institutes of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), wherein students performed Yoga asanas.

Yoga Day Pledge at FET
In connection with the International Yoga Day, NSS Wing of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Faculty of Engineering Technology, carried out online and offline Yoga Day pledge on 14th June 2022. The online yoga pledge undertaken by the Government of India had 20 volunteers. The event was a wonderful learning experience for all the NSS volunteers. With great enthusiasm, all volunteers participated actively to make the Yoga day pledge a big success. The NSS Wing concluded the event with a vote of thanks to Dr. Hariprasad S A, Director - Faculty of Engineering and Technology, all heads of departments, staff members, facility management, and students.

Yoga for Humanity
The NSS Wing of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, celebrated International Yoga Day- Yoga for Humanity on 21st June 2022. Dr. Hariprasad S A, the Director of FET, initiated the event with a valuable and informative speech. The session started with a small story on the importance of Yoga. Ms Kavitha Sanjay, a yoga specialist, explained the benefits of different asanas. Asanas like BadhaKonasana or the butterfly pose, Shashankasana or the rabbit pose, and Vriksasana or the tree pose were explained precisely with a focus on inhaling and exhaling. A total of 52 participants were present in the two-hour session. The event was a wonderful learning experience for all the NSS volunteers. All participants showed great interest and made this session a big success.

Yoga Day at Sri Revanna Siddeswara Swamy Dasoha Mutt
NSS Wing of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Sri Revanna Siddeswara Swamy Dasoha Mutt celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. A special session on the theme, Yoga for Humanity, was conducted for the students and members of Revanna Siddeswara on 16th June 2022 at Sri Revanna Siddeswara Swamy Dasoha Mutt, Avverahalli, Ramanagara. Sri Rajshakara Shivacharya Swamy addressed the participants and initiated the two-hour session with 112 participants. The Yoga session started with the warm-up exercises. With each asana, the benefits were explained. The instructor also highlighted the importance of meditation and pranayam in everyday life to keep the mind and body healthy. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Raghavendra, Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).
