Constitution Day - A Celebration of the people, by the people, for the people

The students of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) observed “The Constitution Day” on 26th November 2022 at JAIN Global Campus.

The “Constitution Day” or “Samvidhan Diwas” is celebrated every year to commemorate the adaptation of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949., which came into effect on 26th January 1950.

Dr. S.A. Hariprasad, Director of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) addressed all the students about the significance of Constitution day.  Further, Dr.Hariprasad in his speech remembered the contributions made by Dr.B.R. Ambedkar towards the framing of the Constitution of India. He further spoke about the importance of India being a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic country.

The Preamble

“WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;
and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the
Nation;
IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.

The "Preamble to the Constitution of India" was recited by all the students and the speech by the Director Dr. S.A. Hariprasad inspired everyone.
