Tech Meets Adventure: ISE Department Hosts Campus-Wide Digital Treasure Hunt

Tech Meets Adventure: ISE Department Hosts Campus-Wide Digital Treasure Hunt

Bengaluru, 12th February 2026 – The Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) at Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) successfully hosted ‘Treasure Hunt: A Fusion of Technical and Fun Elements’ on 12th February 2026. Organised by the student-led Infosphere Club, the event engaged over 200 students in a hybrid competition designed to test analytical reasoning and digital proficiency outside the traditional classroom setting.

Held under the patronage of Honorable Chancellor Dr. Chenraj Roychand and the academic leadership of Dr. K. Manivannan, Professor and Head of ISE, the programme aimed to foster innovation through experiential learning. The event attracted more than 50 teams from various departments, serving as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Addressing the attendees, Dr. K. Manivannan emphasised the necessity of looking beyond conventional academic frameworks. He noted that "Initiatives which integrate technical knowledge with creativity are essential for nurturing the analytical mindsets and collaborative skills required in future-ready engineers."

The competition featured a rigorous dual-phase structure. Participants first undertook a technical round requiring the resolution of logic-based digital challenges and code-breaking on laptops. This was followed by an immersive, campus-wide pursuit utilising strategically placed QR codes, forcing teams to combine technical expertise with rapid strategic planning.

The event was coordinated by Dr. P. Lokaish and executed by a student leadership team including Pranavi, Tejas, and Rashmi. The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony where winning teams were awarded shields, certificates, and cash prizes in recognition of their technical excellence.

By successfully bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, the Department of ISE continues to reinforce the vital role of student-led initiatives in enriching the academic ecosystem.
