Industrial Visit to Spectrum Softtech Solutions

Industrial Visit to Spectrum Softtech Solutions

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IoT) at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) successfully organised a three-day Industrial Visit (IV) to Spectrum Softtech Solutions, Kochi, Kerala, from March 3rd March 3rd to 6th, 2025. This initiative was undertaken to provide students with real-world industry exposure and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Science.

Day 1: Visit to Spectrum Softtech Solutions

On March 4th March 4th 2025, students visited Spectrum Softtech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Kerala's first private-sector IT park, renowned for its expertise in Software Development, E-Commerce, Data Centre Solutions, and Medical Transcription.

The visit commenced with an insightful session by the Data Science Division, where students engaged with professionals working on Big Data analytics, predictive modelling, sentiment analysis, and fraud detection. A live demonstration of the data science pipeline—from data acquisition to model deployment—provided students with an in-depth understanding of industry best practices.

Day 2 & 3: Experiential Learning and Cultural Exposure

Beyond industry insights, students had the opportunity to explore Kerala's technological and natural landscape. Key highlights included:

  • Marayoor Jaggery Production Visit – Understanding traditional sugarcane processing methods.
  • Jeep Safari at Kanthalloor – Exploring eco-friendly agriculture and sandalwood forests.
  • Munnar Sightseeing – Visiting Eco Point, Kundala Dam, and Ripple Tea Outlet, reinforcing sustainability and resource management discussions.

With 48 students and two faculty members in attendance, the industrial visit was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Many students rated the experience as "excellent", highlighting the practical knowledge gained and valuable interactions with industry experts.

This Industrial Visit was a resounding success, enhancing students' technical acumen, professional network, and cultural awareness. JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) encourages experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for future IoT, AI, and emerging technologies careers.

We thank Spectrum Softtech Solutions for their hospitality and the faculty coordinators, Dr Suresh Kallam and Ms Ranju Shree, for organising this remarkable learning experience.
