Kanakapura, October 23, 2025: The NSS Wing of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be-University), successfully organised a National Level Online Cyber Security Quiz—2025 from 19th to 23rd October 2025 under the Cyber Jagrit Bharat initiative. The event formed part of Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM). It aimed to foster awareness of safe online practices, strengthen cyber hygiene, and promote responsible digital citizenship among students nationwide.
The week-long online quiz was a dynamic educational platform, engaging over 635 students from multiple disciplines. Participants were tested on cybersecurity topics, including data protection, phishing awareness, ethical online conduct, and best practices for safeguarding digital assets.
Through this initiative, the NSS Wing sought to bridge theoretical understanding and practical application by encouraging students to analyse real-world cyber scenarios and reflect on the importance of vigilance in the digital landscape. The quiz reinforced students’ commitment to safe digital behaviour and equipped them with essential knowledge to mitigate emerging online threats.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Raghu N, NSS Programme Officer, remarked, “Cybersecurity is no longer a specialised concern, it’s a daily responsibility. This initiative aimed to empower our students to think critically about their digital habits, stay informed about threats, and act as responsible digital citizens. Their enthusiastic participation reflects their growing awareness and readiness to contribute to a secure digital future.”
The organising committee, led by Dr Benaka Prasad S. B., Dr Shivukumar C, and Dr Naveen Kumar, guided the event’s successful execution. The quiz’s interactive format encouraged engagement and fostered analytical thinking, teamwork, and self-assessment among participants.
The event yielded significant educational outcomes, strengthening participants’ understanding of cyber threats and digital safety. It inspired students to adopt proactive measures to safeguard personal and institutional data and cultivate habits aligned with ethical online behaviour. The initiative also promoted curiosity towards cybersecurity careers and innovation within the digital safety domain.
