JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Students Clinch Victory at National Robowars Championship at SVNIT Surat

Bengaluru: In a landmark achievement that underscores its commitment to excellence in engineering education, students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) secured first place at the National Robowars Championship, a highlight of Mindbend 2025, the prestigious annual technical festival hosted by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat.

The winning team, Knockbots, comprising students Luvkush Sharma, Sahan Veeresh Angadi, and Ayush Kumar, outperformed top-tier teams across India in rigorous and technically demanding combat rounds. Robowars is regarded as one of the nation’s premier combat robotics competitions, challenging participants to design, build, and operate heavyweight robots capable of withstanding and executing powerful manoeuvres in a controlled arena.

This national victory is a testament to the students’ ingenuity, mechanical design expertise, and strategic execution. It also reflects the university’s emphasis on application-oriented learning and cultivating practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.

The event drew participation from leading institutions across India and featured the presence of Mr Ashneer Grover, Founder of BharatPe and noted investor from Shark Tank India. Mr Grover commended the student teams' innovation, creativity, and engineering prowess, further elevating the competition's prestige.

Speaking on the occasion, Shree Ravindra Bhandary, Vice President of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), remarked:

“We are immensely proud of Team Knockbots. This victory exemplifies the core of our philosophy: approaching technology with a humanist vision and a conscious focus on its contribution to society. It is this ethos that has established our campus as one of the fastest-growing technology hubs in India. This success reflects our students' talent, dedication, and resilience, as well as the guidance of our faculty mentors who worked tirelessly to support them.”

The university extends its heartfelt congratulations to Team Knockbots for their perseverance and technical brilliance. Their success inspires the wider student community and reinforces JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)’s standing as a premier institution for engineering education in India.
