Bengaluru, 25 April 2025 - The Department of Cybersecurity at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Faculty of Engineering & Technology (JU-FET) successfully organised a three-day industrial visit for second-year undergraduate students from 21 to 23 April 2025. As part of this initiative, 36 students and three faculty members visited Irohub, a renowned software development and training company in Kochi, Kerala, on 21 April 2025.
The visit aimed to familiarise students with practical software development and cybersecurity industry environments. Hosted at Irohub’s headquarters from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the session featured interactive engagements with experienced professionals who shared in-depth insights on live project development, software lifecycle methodologies, penetration testing, and cybersecurity protocols.
The primary objectives of the industrial visit included introducing students to real-world applications of their academic knowledge, highlighting career pathways in the cybersecurity sector, and enhancing their awareness of industry expectations, skillsets, and certifications. During the session, students were guided on ethical hacking practices, threat detection mechanisms, and the significance of continuous learning in the dynamic cybersecurity landscape.
The organising faculty member stated about the initiative, “This visit bridged the critical gap between classroom learning and industry practices. The interaction with domain experts enhanced the students’ technical understanding and motivated them to pursue certifications and professional growth in cybersecurity actively.”
Throughout the visit, students demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm by posing thoughtful questions and participating in discussions. The exposure has enriched their academic journey and encouraged them to align their learning with emerging industry needs.
