Report on Project Expo 2026

Bengaluru, 11 May 2026: Project Expo 2026, organised by the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jain University, was held on 11 May 2026. The expo’s main objective was to showcase student-led innovations addressing sustainability, environmental challenges, construction materials, and disaster preparedness while promoting research-oriented and industry-relevant solutions.

Six student teams showcased projects that combined technical rigour with clear practical impact. Highlights included nano?silica–modified soil, machine?learning–driven wastewater treatment system, investigations into mica?reinforced concrete, techniques to improve coir geotextile durability, rapidly deployable disaster?response structures, and a green mortar formulated from waste plastic. Presenters outlined their methodologies, shared key test results, and discussed real?world applications, emphasising scalability, feasibility, and steps needed to transition each idea from prototype to implementation.

The event was honoured by Chief Guests Dr Venkadeshwaran, Deputy Dean – Academics, and Dr Dasarathy A K, Head of the Department, who commended the participants for their creativity, technical knowledge, and clarity of presentation. Their feedback emphasised the importance of sustainability, interdisciplinary research, and industry collaboration in advancing civil engineering solutions.

Overall, Project Expo 2026 successfully achieved its aim of encouraging student innovation and research engagement. The event provided a platform for constructive critique, networking with faculty, and motivation for further development of promising projects toward real-world implementation.
