Monthly Webinar Series Launched at FET with First Session on Non-Invasive Brain Monitoring

Bengaluru, 30th January 2026: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), inaugurated its Departmental Monthly Webinar Series on Friday, 30 January 2026, with a session titled “Non-Invasive Thermal and Hemodynamic Monitoring of the Brain with Microwaves”. The webinar, organised through the department’s student technical forum EvalanChE Club, was delivered by Dr Daljeet Singh from the University of Oulu, Finland, and attracted 133 participants, including students, researchers, and faculty members.

The webinar series aims to foster a research-driven, innovation-oriented culture by providing a platform for continuous learning, global knowledge exchange, and direct engagement with experts across disciplines. The inaugural session explored advanced biomedical microwave sensing techniques, non-invasive brain monitoring, experimental methodologies, and emerging research directions in neuro-engineering and healthcare applications.

Dr Daljeet Singh emphasised how fundamental electronics and communication engineering principles can translate into impactful real-world solutions in biomedical research. The session included an interactive segment, during which participants posed questions and engaged in discussions on interdisciplinary research challenges and technological innovations.

The event was coordinated by Dr Sharath P C, under the guidance of Prof Keerthana H Magadi, EvalanChE Club Coordinator, and Dr Sumit Kumar, Professor and Head of the ECE Department. “Initiatives like this provide students and young researchers with exposure to cutting-edge developments and inspire engagement beyond the classroom,” noted Dr Kumar.

The Department expressed gratitude to Shri Ravindra Bhandary, Vice President, JAIN Group, for his continuous support and encouragement of academic innovation at FET. Webinar recordings have been made available to participants to facilitate ongoing learning and reflection.

This initiative underscores FET’s commitment to cultivating a research-oriented learning ecosystem and preparing the next generation of engineers to address contemporary technological and societal challenges. The Departmental Monthly Webinar Series will continue throughout 2026, further promoting scholarly engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
