TAGX 2K25: Two-Day Technical Challenge Redefines Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)

Bengaluru, 16 April 2025: The Department of Cloud Technology and Information Security, under the School of Computer Science at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), successfully hosted the much-anticipated TAGX 2k25 - a two-day technical competition held on 15 and 16 April 2025 at the Kanakapura campus. Organised by The Cloud Club, this intellectually charged event brought together over 140 students in a high-pressure arena of logic, speed, and innovation.

TAGX 2k25 was conceived as a unique problem-solving platform that pushed participants beyond conventional boundaries through various challenges, ranging from cryptography and reverse engineering to real-time decision-making. With more than 300 tasks categorised across five difficulty levels, the competition model rewarded technical acumen, strategic foresight, and collaborative precision.

The event opened with a keynote address by Mr Vijay Siddartha Munnangi, Project Manager and Club Lead. This was followed by insights from Dr Geeta Ganeshan, Director of the School of Computer Science, who envisioned the event's potential to evolve into a state, national, and international competition. Other esteemed faculty members, including Dr Sonal Sharma, Dr Garima Sinha, and Dr T V Raman, offered encouragement and highlighted the importance of such forums in nurturing future-ready technology professionals.

Commenting on the event's impact, Dr Geeta Ganeshan stated, "I am extremely pleased with the success of TAGX 2k25 and hope to see it grow further. While it started at the college level, I envision it expanding to the Karnataka level, then nationally, and eventually internationally."

The competition format was engineered to simulate real-world tech environments where timing, adaptability, and strategic planning are paramount. The live leaderboard, penalty system, and time-based challenge drops kept all teams alert and focused, providing a dynamic test of competence and resilience. Among the 35 participating teams, "Alpha Koders" emerged as the winners, followed by "CP Team" as runners-up and "Decipher Team" in third place.

TAGX 2k25 proved not only to be a contest of skills but a transformative experience for all involved. Participants gained practical exposure to high-stakes technical environments, honed critical soft skills such as communication and prioritisation, and departed with a reinforced readiness for industry challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software engineering.

The resounding success of this year's event sets a strong precedent for future editions. Plans are already underway to expand the competition's reach and scope in subsequent years, positioning TAGX as a premier fixture in the School of Computer Science's academic calendar.
