Dr. R. Sukumar is a professor and the HOD at the Department of ECE, Faculty of Engineering Technology at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Through his extensive experience in academia of almost 25 years, he has been an instrumental guide for the department and its students.
Dr. R. Sukumar holds a PhD. from the esteemed Anna University and has mentored several students while pursuing their PhD. His expertise in research includes cryptography, network security, sensor networks, cloud computing, and IoT. As an ardent researcher, he has authored multiple publications and patents and written a book on Computer Networks.
Dr. Hariprasad S A is a professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He comes with commendable experience in the field of engineering, having spent almost 32 years, and he also holds two DScs and a PhD.
As part of his noteworthy career, Dr. Hariprasad S A has mentored various PhD students with their research and has published papers. His calibre in the discipline has secured him key positions at premium institutions such as RVCE, BMSIT, DSU, and JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Through his contributions to academics and research, Dr. Hariprasad S A has been accoladed with awards and has a growing passion for staying involved in collaborations with industry and academia.
Dr. Sunil M.P, is an eminent Assistant Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He holds almost 13+ years of experience in Electronics & Communication Engineering. He is also the Director of IQAC and carries the relevant skillsets and proficiency in multiple concepts in the discipline. These include concepts such as embedded systems, AI, IoT, and VLSI design.
Dr. Sunil M.P. has published over 70 papers and holds 6 patents, significantly contributing to practical research and educational innovation, particularly in IoT-based healthcare and environmental solutions.
Mr. Pramod R, with almost 5+ years of experience as an Assistant Professor and Placement Coordinator at the Faculty of Engineering, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is detail-oriented and specialises in embedded systems and communication systems.
Through his niche research skills and interest areas like underwater communication, he aims to find solutions by investigating signal attenuation and multi-path propagation. As Placement coordinator, he actively engages students towards successful careers in the electronics and communication industry.
Ms. Keerthana H Magadi is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). She is a skilled AI and signal-processing expert with a strong focus on healthcare applications. She holds a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), where she is currently pursuing her PhD. Her academic achievements include a Gold Medal and numerous certifications.
As an Assistant Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), she actively contributes to academia through research, publications, and training programs. Her current endeavours involve leading the establishment of a Healthcare Research Center, demonstrating her commitment to advancing healthcare through technology.
Dr. Chethana GS is an Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). On holding a BE and MTech in related fields, he comes with a well-versed knowledge in the field and is passionate abour research, additionally, he is pursuing his PhD at the same university.
His areas of expertise include, Embedded Systems, IoT, and Image Processing. Dr. Chethana GS, is involved in teaching several engineering subjects to the students and is equally passionate about it. He has pro-actively collaborated and worked with the Food Technology department where research on early detection of fungus in food products as a project was presented as research at a national conference.
Mr. Chalavuraju P.P, is a renowned academic contributor at the Department of ECE, Faculty of Engineering Technology at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He teaches at the department, as an Associate Professor since Aug 2012. With an exceptional 22+ years of teaching experience and 5 years of industry experience, his contributions to the department is highly-appreciated.
He has a BE Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in the year 1994 from Gulbarga University and ME Degree in ECE in the year 2011 from Bangalore University, Karnataka. Mr. Chalavuraju P.P, has a vast area of research interests, and these include Total Electron Content Studies in Ionosphere. While he is currently pursuing his doctoral degree, through his passion and thirst for knowledge and research he has published papers in peer reviewed journals and alos holds a patent.
Dr. Manjula T.R. is an Associate Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), she is highly-qualified and holds a specialisation in the subject of Navigation and Remote Sensing. As an ardent researcher, her pivotal focus is on concepts like Environmental monitoring, including Glacier retreat and Water body Studies. Her interest in the discipline has forged her to work on ISRO-funded projects and shem also gained the opportunity to publish numerous papers.
She is mentoring several students and also motivates them to contribute to academia. Dr. Manjula T.R. involves herself into the academic community from time to time through reviewing and particpates in keynote speeches.
Dr. Sharath P.C. is an Assistant Professor, at the Department of ECE, Faculty of Engineering and Technology at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He holds an eminent expereince of almost 12+ years as an educator with a PhD in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from NITK Surathkal.
He holds proficiency in Metal forming, Severe plastic deformation, Composites, Additive manufacturing, and Electrochemical sensors. As an experienced researcher, he has published extensively in International journals and book chapters. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), guiding research scholars and contributing to the academic community.
Dr. Raju Garudachar is a distinguished academic and a veteran of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He has a rich career spanning over four decades, marked by pioneering contributions to spaceborne remote sensing.
Dr. Raju is a Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), guiding Ph.D. scholars on topics like climate change, disaster monitoring, and space-based navigation. He actively engages in knowledge dissemination through lectures, publications, and media appearances.
A renowned expert in microwave remote sensing, Dr. Raju led the development of India's first remote-sensing microwave payloads. He was the Project Director for the prestigious Indo-French Megha-Tropiques satellite mission. His research has taken him to Antarctica, where he conducted groundbreaking field studies using his developed radar systems.
Dr. Eashwar Sivakumar is an Associate Professor, at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). On having over 1+ years of teaching experience, he is highly skilled and has undertaken a consultancy project valued at 12 lakhs rupees. Dr. Eashwar Sivakumar , has a BE in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Anna University. He pursued his higher education in MTech from the (BITS), Pilani, and then a PhD, from Chandigarh University, Punjab.
With his industry experience spanning almost 11+ years in industrial automation and machinery, he has successfully executed projects worth 32 crores for multinational companies like Bosch, Asahi India Glass Ltd, and etc. He has worked in public sector organisations such as BHEL, HAL, and BHPV.
Dr. Sivakumar's influence goes beyond his research; he actively contributes to the academic community as a journal reviewer and technical committee member at conferences, demonstrating his commitment to knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Dr. Chandrasekar Shastry is the renowned Dean for Postgraduation Studies, at the department of FET at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He was born in 1965 and holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electronic Communication Engineering domain. He has a doctoral degree in ‘Fiber Optic Communication’ from IISc, and worked as a Lecturer, Assistant professor, Professor and Head of the Department for both Day and Evening colleges at BMSCE.
He was also recruited as the Chairman Board of Examinations as well as Studies at Bangalore University and VTU. He then transitioned to corporate in the year 2000 and worked at Infosys Technologies. His job role included Software Engineering, Module leader, Project manager, and Senior project manager, and then becoming the Head for Education & Research in Telecom Software.The client companies included Lucent, Cisco, Nortel, and etc. He has travelled extensively to international conferences and has 120+ publications and 14 patents and has guided 15 PhD scholars.
Dr. Asha K S, is an Associate Professor, at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). She holds a professional teaching experience of almost 17+ years of teaching and has worked in coporate for 5+ years. She has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from VTU, Karnataka. Dr. Asha's impressive educational background, where she completed her post-graduation in Digital Electronics, from VTU, Belagavi has helped her find her niche and pursued her graduation, in ECE, from SIT, Bangalore University, India. She has a professional knack for having worked in multiple reputed organisations and holds relevant skill sets. Her research interests are Vehicular AdHoc networks and Wireless Communication. She has published more than 18 international journal articles, 1 book chapter, and 3 patents. She has served as a session chair for many conferences and research presentations. Additionally, she has reviewed numerous conference papers.
Dr. Vinay Kumar S B holds a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from VTU, and an MTech in Signal Processing and VLSI from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He has a PhD, that focuses on Nature-inspired Computation-Based Floor Planning in VLSI, from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). On holding a commendable educational background he leveraged biological algorithms to optimise circuit design and enhance efficiency. Additionally, he has developed expertise in theoretical principles and practical applications, particularly in VLSI, Embedded Systems, and problem-solving. He has mentored over 30 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate students and currently supervises six PhD scholars. He has led influential research projects funded by organisations like KSCST and IISc, with the Smart Water Meter project awarded Best Project of the Year by KSCST in 2014. He creates online Computer Architecture courses for Coursera, serves on the Journal of Multimedia Signal Processing's editorial board, and contributes to STEM education with Agastya International Foundation. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications, highlighting his academic impact.
Dr. Premkumar R is a prominent academician and an Associate Professor, at the Department of ECE, Faculty of Engineering Technology at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He has significantly contributed to research with his passion and knowledge of Engineering and research with over 15 years of experience, in the field of Image Processing and Bio-Medical Engineering.
He also collaborated with HP India Sales Private Limited and worked as a Hardware Engineer as he was deeply passionate about research and innovation. He has secured funding from prestigious organisations such as AICTE, NAAC, and CSIR for his impactful projects and serves as a reviewer for esteemed journals, upholding high research standards.
Dr. S. Lakshmi is an Associate Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), who has a PhD in Information and Communication Engineering. Her vast research experience has enabled her to specialise in subjects such as Information Retrieval, Image Processing, and Communication Engineering. Her eminent work has been acknowledged in several prestigious journals as publications and also as presentations at international conferences.
Dr. Lakshmi is actively engaged in academic administration, serving as the IIC Convenor and the Department IQAC Coordinator. She is passionate about mentoring students and has guided many undergraduate and postgraduate projects. Her dedication to innovative teaching methods and integration with industry significantly enriches the learning experience for her students.
Ms. Mamatha G.N. is an assistant professor in the Department of Faculty and Engineering at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and has almost 12 years of teaching experience. She holds an M.Tech and a B.E. from reputed institutions, and her areas of teaching expertise include IoT, cloud computing, digital communication, cryptography, and signal processing. On guiding student projects that are focused on EEG-based epilepsy detection, IoT applications, and machine learning classifiers for biomedical signal analysis, she is well-versed in the discipline.
She has authored 12 research papers and holds a patent for the 'Toddler Walk Training Device.' Ms. Mamatha has been a voluntary participant in multiple events, such as FDPs, workshops, and conferences, with a focus on emerging technologies and academic innovation. Her innate passion for teaching, research, and developing learning experiences has been instrumental in shaping students and their future.
Mr. Hari Krishna, is an Associate Professor, at the Department of ECE, Faculty of Engineering Technology at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He has a prolif teaching experience of almost 21+ years and holds a BE from Bangalore University, Karnataka and M.E from Sathyabama University. He is proficient in research areas such as Low Power VLSI Design, Signal Processing, Antenna requirements for Multimedia Communication and Artificial Intelligence. On being associated with JAIN Group of Institutions since 2009, he has been a great asset to the department and his research work has been published in peer reviewed journals and he also holds a patent.
Dr. Gopalakrishna K is a Professor in the Electronics & Communication Engineering department at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) with 32 years of teaching experience. He holds degrees in Electronics Engineering (B.E.), VLSI Design (M.Tech.), Computer Science (M.Phil.), and Electronics Engineering (Ph.D.). His research interests encompass Advanced Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems, VLSI Technology, and IoT. He guides Ph.D. scholars, has published in esteemed journals, and serves as Deputy Controller of Examinations at the university. Additionally, Dr. Gopalakrishna is also a Departmental Promotion Committee Member at ISRO.
