The Electronic Circuit Design Laboratory provides students with hands-on experience in designing, analyzing, and testing electronic circuits, enhancing their theoretical knowledge with practical applications in both analog and digital circuit design. Equipped with oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and multimeters, the lab allows students to build and test circuits while engaging in real-world application-based projects. Students learn the fundamentals of circuit design, designing and analyzing rectifiers, amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and working with operational amplifiers and digital circuits like logic gates, counters, and multiplexers. The lab's focus on consumer electronics, embedded systems, power electronics, industrial automation, communication, signal processing, IoT, and sensor-based applications provides a solid foundation for students pursuing careers in electronics, robotics, and embedded systems design, fostering innovation and problem-solving skills
The Communication Lab in the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department provides hands-on experience in analog and digital communication systems, microwave and optical fiber communication, and wireless technologies. Students perform experiments on modulation and demodulation techniques, signal transmission, error detection, and antenna testing. The lab is equipped with hardware for ASK, FSK, PSK, QPSK modulation, along with the microwave test benches, waveguides and optical fiber testing tool kits. This lab plays a crucial role in bridging theoretical concepts with practical applications, preparing students for careers in telecommunications, signal processing, and networking and realizing the communication concepts like transmitter and receiver circuits. Lab is equipped to conduct open ended experiments as well
The IC Design Lab is a state-of-the-art facility supporting undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD research activities in integrated circuit (IC) design and verification using industry-standard Cadence EDA tools, including Virtuoso, Spectre, and Innovus. UG students engage in fundamental experiments such as schematic design, circuit simulation, and layout techniques, while PG students explore advanced topics like VLSI design, mixed-signal ICs, power optimization, and SoC prototyping. PhD researchers focus on cutting-edge innovations in low-power ICs, RF and mmWave circuits, neuromorphic computing, and emerging semiconductor technologies. The lab fosters high-impact research, enabling students to work on custom IC fabrication, timing analysis, high-speed circuit simulations, and reliability assessments, bridging the gap between academia and industry-driven semiconductor advancements.
The Robotics and Automation Lab is a state-of-the-art facility designed for hands-on learning and research in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Microprocessors, and Embedded Systems. The lab is equipped with MATLAB and DSP Kit 6748, enabling students to perform DSP-related experiments such as signal analysis, filtering, and real-time processing. It also serves as the Microprocessor Lab, where students gain practical exposure to processor architecture, instruction sets, and interfacing techniques. Additionally, the lab is used for Embedded Systems experiments, focusing on real-time applications, microcontrollers, and embedded programming for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students. With a focus on practical implementation and research, the lab fosters innovation in automation, robotics, and signal processing technologies. This lab provides students with industry-relevant skills, preparing them for careers in embedded systems, signal processing, and robotics applications.
The Makers Lab of the ECE Department is a dedicated innovation space encouraging students to work on real-time projects aimed at societal development, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With a focus on key areas like Agriculture, Smart Cities, and Healthcare, the lab provides a collaborative environment where students receive guidance from faculty and researchers to transform their ideas into practical solutions. NAVIC Research laboratory is a research excellence in FET, JU in collaboration with Space Application center ISRO, Government of India. Research studies and activities in the field of navigation are extensively carried out by under graduates & post graduate's students.
